As a culmination of the course “Climate leadership: From commitments to actions”, led by UNU as part of the Impulsouth project, 23 young climate action professionals from Madagascar, Niger, Uganda and Zambia presented their proposals of climate solutions on Friday the 12th of August on a virtual event.

The proposals included innovative agricultural and food security initiatives, energy and water access projects, capacity-building  projects for community climate resilience, as well as the marketplace of climate solutions. All presenters explained how their projects relate with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as with their countries’ NDCs, in order to contribute to their national commitments for the Paris agreement implementation.

The best evaluated proposals will be selected to be part of Impulsouth Climate Solutions Lab, an incubation programme in which the young leaders will be accompanied for 6 months in the implementation of their projects.

Many thanks and congratulations to the students who have made it to the end of Impulsouth’s climate leadership training with hard work and tenacity! And special thanks as well to the evaluation committee formed by Impulsouth academic partners, African innovation specialists, UNFCCC staff and government representatives and research partners of Impulsouth from Madagascar, Niger, Uganda and Zambia

Below you will find the list of students and their project titles.
