Canada Pavilion on December 8th from 12:30pm to 1:30pm GST

Event Description:

The event will generate a significant conversation around cooperative approaches to prepare young leaders from developing countries to drive climate action at all levels of society. It will share lessons learned between projects supported by Canada, foster discussion on opportunities for deepening and furthering triangular cooperation and provoke new ideas for climate education and training.

The conversation will be guided by concrete examples of capacity building among young professionals in Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean to better deliver on the Paris Agreement goals. Cases include Impulsouth.org, an initiative supporting climate solutions development across continents and sectors, as well as AGNES training of climate change negotiators. The panel will be complemented by the perspective of the founder of both initiatives – IDRC, and of a young professional that benefited from triangular cooperation.
